Excessive Steam from Door (Top or Sides)

Steam escaping from the top of the door is usually normal (calibration, preheating, or mode change). Steam from the sides indicates a dirty or loose door seal.

🔧 How to Fix

  1. If steam is from the top: this is usually normal. If it persists, run calibration: Settings > Basic settings > Calibration (20 minutes, do not open door).
  2. If steam is from the sides: clean the door seal with hot soapy water. Ensure it is fully seated in its groove.
  3. Do not scour or use metal/glass scrapers on the seal.
  4. If the seal is damaged, contact Gaggenau after-sales service.
