Check the brew unit

⚠ What This Means

The brew unit cannot be positioned correctly or is dirty/soiled. Ground coffee cannot be pressed. The brew unit motor may have lost its reference position.

🔧 How to Fix

  1. Check whether you can remove the brew unit.
  2. If you can remove the brew unit, rinse it under running water.
  3. Push the coffee ejector of the brew unit into the correct position (refer to the diagram in your manual).
  4. Place the water container back in the machine and close the door. Do NOT insert the brew unit yet.
  5. Switch the coffee machine on -- this will initialize the brew unit motor and return it to the start position.
  6. When 'Insert the brew unit' appears in the display, open the door and put the brew unit back in.
  7. Close the appliance door.
  8. If you CANNOT remove the brew unit, switch the coffee machine off and wait approximately 2 minutes before switching it back on.
