Too much ground coffee

What This Means

There is too much ground coffee in the ground coffee chute. The brew unit cannot compact more than 12 g (two level spoonfuls) of ground coffee. Excess ground coffee is emptied into the waste container and the fault message appears.

🔧 How to Fix

  1. Switch the machine off using the On/Off sensor.
  2. Remove the brew unit and clean it by hand (see 'Cleaning and care -- Degreasing the brew unit and cleaning the interior').
  3. Remove excess ground coffee from inside the coffee machine (e.g. with a vacuum cleaner).
  4. When refilling, place a maximum of 12 g of coffee in the ground coffee chute.
