SYMPTOM

Refrigerator/Freezer is frosted up

Appliance: Sub-Zero Built-In (600 Series) Models: 601R, 601RG, 601F, 611, 611G, 642, 650, 650G, 661, 632, 685, 695

What This Means

Excessive frost or ice buildup is present inside the refrigerator and/or freezer section.

🔧 How to Fix

  1. Check if a door or drawer has been left open for an extended period. Ensure food is not obstructing proper door or drawer closing.
  2. Verify that all doors and drawers are closing and sealing properly. Check the four-sided magnetic gaskets.
  3. If doors are not adjusted properly, contact your Sub-Zero dealer for door adjustment.
  4. Note: when opening the freezer drawer on models 611, 611G, 650, and 650G, a side-to-side motion in the drawer is normal (built-in tolerance in drawer slides). The drawer will automatically adjust and close with correct alignment.
  5. If frost persists and doors are sealing properly, the automatic defrost system may need service. Call Sub-Zero Customer Service at 800-222-7820.
