What This Means

Interior lighting in the refrigerator or freezer section has burned out or is not functioning.

🔧 How to Fix

  1. SAFETY FIRST: Shut off power to the unit at the circuit breaker before replacing light bulbs. Wear protective gloves when handling bulbs.
  2. For overhead lighting: place hands under the light shield, release the two clips on the back of the shield, lift up and slide back slowly until the key slots on the side drop past the mounting studs. Remove shield and replace bulb.
  3. For freezer basket lighting (models 601F, 661, 642, 685, 632, 695): gently compress the light shield to release the top, then the bottom. Replace bulb. Reinstall shield bottom-first, then compress and insert top.
  4. For freezer lighting on models 611, 611G, 650, 650G: open the freezer drawer and unscrew the bulb from the top front of the freezer.
  5. For freezer lighting on models 685 and 695: remove the freezer utility rack first, then access bulbs above the ice bucket.
  6. Replace with standard 40 watt appliance bulbs (Sub-Zero part #3030030).
  7. Note: if lights go off while doors are left open for a long time, this is a safety feature to protect internal parts from overheating. Close the door for 15 to 30 minutes to reset.
