During a power failure, the electronic ignition system, ExtraLow burners, griddle, and oven do not function. Only the standard STAR burners can be manually lit with a match. ExtraLow (XLO) burners and the griddle are completely inoperative during a power failure.

🔧 How to Fix

  1. Turn all burner and oven knobs to the OFF position immediately.
  2. To light a standard STAR burner manually: hold a lighted match to the burner ports and turn the control knob to HI.
  3. Wait until the flame burns completely around the burner cap before adjusting to the desired setting.
  4. Do NOT attempt to light ExtraLow (XLO) burners manually — they cannot be lit without electrical power.
  5. If an ExtraLow burner was on during the outage, it will not re-light until the knob is turned OFF and then back ON after power is restored.
  6. The griddle cannot be used during a power outage.
