SYMPTOM

Cake collapses after baking

Appliance: V-ZUG Combi-Steam Models: CSTXSL60F, CSTXSL60FY, CSSL, CSSL60c, CSSL60Y, CSTXSL60

What This Means

The cake rises during baking but then collapses or sinks in the middle. This is a recipe/technique issue rather than an appliance fault.

🔧 How to Fix

  1. Check that the settings match those recommended in EasyCook (or the separate Tips on Settings booklet for CSTXSL60).
  2. Next time, set a lower temperature and lengthen the operating time.
  3. Stir the cake mixture well. When finished mixing, bake immediately (do not let the batter sit).
  4. For whisked sponges: beat the egg yolks/whites to a foam a little longer, then carefully fold into the mixture. Bake immediately.
  5. Follow the instructions on how much baking powder to add (too much causes collapse).
